Great Movies: War Games
Posted by coldtobi | 18 Jul, 2008, 22:01Do you remember the old style Sci-Fi movies? The ones where the "computers of the future" are shown, at the times where computers where scary and filled up complete rooms. And where reality outreached every imagination of the brilliant directors -- at least seen 25 years later.
One of my favorites is WarGames. As a computer geek this one is especially appealing for me: It has hardware is worth the name. Hackers and a gone-mad supercomputer playing with nukes. Together they playing towards doomsday, as finally the AI is figuring out the difference of reality and games. At last tic-tac-toe will saved the world.

Well, this is a very condensed summary of the plot, but this shouldn't be a spoiler: WarGames
is coming again to the theatres. And watching such a great film at the cinema is *great*
But this is only on one day: The 25th Anniversary event is only playing on July 24th. Hopefully they play it here to...
PS: I learned that a sequel -- War Games: The Dead Code -- is planned. I'm really looking forward to that.
