YAML Template Sets.

Posted by coldtobi | 16 Aug, 2007, 09:15

Some weeks ago, I prepared a template set for lifetype, using the YAML framework.  Now, it is time to bundle my work and release it to the public..

The YAML framework has been created that a web designed has not to care about browser bugs and also to use the power of CSS to make a flexible design. Or, as in the words of yaml's author:

Bulletproof & Flexible Layouts Made Simple

"Yet Another Multicolumn Layout" (YAML) is an (X)HTML/CSS framework for creating modern and flexible floated layouts. The structure is extremely versatile in its programming and absolutely accessible for end users.

Template for Lifetype

To get started, here is the download link on my server: http://frost.de/files/yaml_lifetype.zip

I prepared some examples using the examples in the yaml packages.

Making the Same Errors.

Posted by coldtobi | 2 Aug, 2007, 07:46 My old hoster had a problem with his smtp-configuration: Using a smart-host-setup, the server needs authentification, to avoid being misued as a spam relay. And that is good that way.

My mail server (@ localhost), on the other side, refuses to authenticate against a server if the server is using some authentification method on which a plaintext password is transfered unencrypted. And that is good that way.

The Moving Experience.

Posted by coldtobi | 1 Aug, 2007, 23:32 As I wrote peviously, the server hosting this blog moved.

Well, now it is time for a resume. As you can read this, the blog is online and AFAIK it is (mostly) working. For the things that are not working, I simply did not find time to analyze why it does not work.

More accurate would be, however, that it is now working again. The new owner of my hosting company schedued the move of the server on the lastSaturday @ 3pm MET. It started actually a little later, and finished about thee hour later. At least, three hours later the domain names resolved to the new IP, and some services where actually available again.

Posted by coldtobi | 28 Jul, 2007, 15:23

BTW, I got a mail yesterday, that my hosting service is moving the servers.

They try to keep the offline time short, but in case this site is temporary not available: They are just moving.
